The Aboriginal Youth Work Exchange Program (AYWEP) provides Aboriginal youth aged 15 to 24 (up to 29 for persons with a disability) with eight-week work placements focusing on resource management projects, job skills readiness training and personal development training. 

Each participant remains with the program over three summers: placements are with the Ministry of Natural Resources and with a First Nation community or other Aboriginal organizations; dependant on the needs of each organization. 

Recruitment for these positions is facilitated in partnership with participating First Nation communities.
