Harbour Road Repairs at Sandy Beach
The Municipality of Wawa has informed MFN that they will be replacing a culvert at the Sandy Beach area on the Harbour Road.
Repairs have been scheduled for July 23rd to July 25th, 2013. The road will be closed to all traffic.
During these days, since the Harbour Road is the only access route to the reserve and although provision has been made for emergency vehicles on either side of the closed off area, MFN will be developing an “alternate access route” around the closed off area through MFN lands; to ensure and protect the health and safety of community members.
The temporary access route will be no more than a logging or rough road, and will be closed off once the work is completed on the Harbour Road. Detour signs will be posted at both ends.
Please use caution while entering this work area and be aware of increased delays and vehicles including dump truck traffic on the Tremblay Road.
Please avoid all unnecessary trips in and out of town that may cause additional congestion and delays to the repairs. We will be prepared in the event of a fire or medical emergency.
If you have any questions please contact Chris Buckell, Public Works Coordinator or call (705) 856-1993 ext. 217.
