12 GROUNDS LABOURERS/ PROGRAM HELPERS

POSITION: Under the direction of a supervisor,the successful applicants will be responsible for undertaking tasks related to the community’s beautification projects, such as cleaning public areas, building small fences, painting, mowing lawns, cleaning up brush and garbage alongside our roadways, assisting elders with piling wood,  general household maintenance (yard work), assisting during our annual Youth and Elders Gathering, and any other duties as assigned. Office duties would include faxing, photocopying, filing, answering phones, offer assistance to program coordinators.  Successful applicants will follow all health and safety procedures and ensure work and instructions are taken seriously and respected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This initiative employs youth aged 14 to 29 years
  • Must be currently enrolled in school in 2019-2020 school year
  • Ability to follow direction and instructions
  • Ability to work in a safe, responsible manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Must have access to transportation to and from the place of work
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario Driver’s License would be an asset

LOCATION: Michipicoten First Nation

Start & End Dates:  July 2-August 23, 2019 (8 weeks)

Wage:$15.00/hr working 37.5 hours per week
