Moon Ceremony – Celebrating “Falling Leaves”

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2107, a Sacred Fire will be lit at 6 p.m. at the Pow Wow Arbor in Michipicoten First Nation.

Moon Ceremony is a woman’s ceremony; men participate by keeping fire. The Moon Ceremony acknowledges that Grandmother Moon (Nookomis Geezis) is the caretaker of the water that lay on Mother Earth. Nookomis Geezis also takes care of the newborn in Creation.

We give thanks to Nookomis Geezis for her continuous work in keeping our water safe and clean for generations to come.

Ladies, you can bring: your skirt, tobacco/or your ties, your drum.

For more information contact, Teresa Black at 705-856-0129, extension 228.
