Dear Friend and Sponsor:
Each year in mid August Michipicoten First Nation hosts our Youth and Elder’s Gathering to promote our community and cultural awareness through ceremonies, workshops, teachings, traditional medicines and community feasts.
Michipicoten First Nation extends invitations to other Ontario First Nations and typically we have an average attendance of 200-300 representatives from at least a dozen First Nations and surrounding communities, not to mention our Members who travel from all over Ontario and Canada to attend.
The Gathering is a week long event in August and is open to the public. We provide rough camping facilities and daily meals to accommodate the majority of participants and we do not charge a fee. This is a drug and alcohol free celebration.
This year we are requesting support and sponsorship from our local and regional community partners and corporate friends as we rely upon generous donations and funding opportunities to host this annual event.
Support may be provided by pledging in different ways, some of which are:
We need your support for this important community event. We encourage everyone to join us and bring your family and friends to experience our community and culture.
